The Business Eastern Shore Business Excellence Awards have recognised excellence in business in the City of Clarence for over 20 years. The Awards contribute to the awareness and profile of eastern shore businesses and foster pride in the business community. The 2024 Awards nominees and winners will be celebrated at an Awards Presentation on 14 November 2024.
The Business Excellence Awards seek to reward excellence in overall business planning, management and operations. Nominees are required to lodge their entry submission online. Short-listed entrants will receive a site visit from the judging panel.
The Customer Service Awards seek to identify and reward excellence in customer service across a range of industries, including retail, hospitality and professional services. Nominees are assessed by a visit from a mystery shopper.

"I purchased my business on the Eastern Shore in July 2021 and we set about getting as involved in the local community as we possibly could.
We wanted to let the community know that Banjos Rosny was more than just a franchise bakery, that it was locally owned and that we really do care about the community we belong to.
Joining Business Eastern Shore and then being lucky enough to be nominated and to actually then win a Gold Business Excellence Award for Community Contribution was huge for us.
Not only was it reward for the work the team has put in but it really helped show the local community that we do care and I’m very thankful for Business Eastern Shore for highlighting this about my business.
John and the team do a terrific job of networking, enhancing, providing resources and promoting local Eastern Shore businesses that I would highly recommend any ES business become a member and see what it’s all about.
Thank you Business Eastern Shore."
"Accru Hobart were thrilled to be awarded the Professional Service Award at the City of Clarence Business Excellence Awards for 2022.
At Accru Hobart we seek to build enduring relationships with our clients through providing a service that is both of a high standard and personalised to our client’s needs and varying stages of their business journey.
Receiving this award solidifies our continued efforts in this space and provides exposure and connection within our local community and our fellow award winners.
We are extremely grateful to Business Eastern Shore for the recognition and support their ongoing aspirations to continue mentoring and supporting small business within the Eastern Shore community."
"I was honoured to win the Vanessa Goodwin Mentoring Award in 2022. These awards are a great time to reflect on local business and of course, to have been nominated by a client was indeed very humbling. I love what I do and to be acknowledged provided me with some really great feedback which can often be lacking when operating your own small business.
The feedback has been overwhelming, watching my clients walk in and see the Award proudly sit on my desk, not only do they remember and acknowledge Vanessa’s great work and as a person, they also make mention I am very deserving of this Award. This experience has been extremely valuable in my self-development and that of the growth of my business.
I am very thankful for the support given by Business Eastern Shore and appreciate the mentoring John Beard has given in helping me develop my business."
"John from Business East introduced himself to me shortly after the opening of the Pooseum in 2018. Since then, he has been a wonderful business mentor, supporter and friend. Whenever I needed advice or practical help, John was always there for me.
John’s regular email updates and the monthly networking events keep everyone informed about new developments.
I would also like to say a big thank you to John for organising the Business Excellence Awards, and for encouraging the Pooseum to participate. The award was a great acknowledgement of what I do, and it looks pretty good on the front desk of my museum!"
"I first came into contact with Business East around 9 years ago when I was trying to put together my first business plan. John from Business East came to our property and I went through what I wanted to achieve with our lavender plantings.
He advised me on the best way to start creating a business plan and looking at the business idea from a realistic point view and not one through rose coloured glasses.
Having that contact over the next 9 years whilst developing our vision should not be underestimated. Knowing that you have resources to draw on and that no large consultancy fees were attached made the daunting process of starting a new business a little less stressful at a time when every dollar counts towards your success.
In our case we started our business in October 2014 from nothing, we have gone on to create 18 new jobs in a regional area, substantial economic benefits to local community, a new visitor experience, GST and Tax revenue that simply didn’t exist prior to this time.
We are very thankful for being able to access the services offered by this dedicated and passionate team."
